Dr. Ganter’s work examines the structural conditions that shape journalism’s capacity to function safely and independently in complex and uncertain environments. She applies a comparative, cross-border perspective, grounded in academic cosmopolitanism and informed by scholarly work across cultural and linguistic contexts. Currently, she leads two major research projects: An Exploration of Independent Journalism’s Epistemologies: Enhancing Democratic Resilience in the Age of Disinformation (EDIT), funded by the Transatlantic Partnership Platform, and the SSHRC Insight Grant Laws Regulating the Use of News Content and their (Un)intended Consequences for Journalism.
