Dr. Gascón’s main line of research is the regulation of Information and Communication Technologies and the protection of Human Rights, mainly freedom of expression including the right to information and personal data protection and privacy. She is interested in the safety of journalists and protection of journalism in a broad sense and media freedom in Europe from a legal perspective. She focuses on the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights and the EU proposals such as the European Media Freedom Act and the anti-SLAPP initiative.
