comparative/international criminology coping strategies victimization conflict and violence project evaluation
My research focuses on better understanding the causes and consequences of violence in international and comparative contexts. In addition, I also evaluate and analyze unique policies that are aimed at combatting violence and their short and long-term consequences. One aspect of this research is understanding the experiences of journalists who experience violence due to war as well those who report on other forms of warfare, such as those associated with guerrilla groups, terrorist groups, and organized crime. Previous work has considered the victimization experiences of journalists in Latin American contexts (Brazil and Mexico) and their coping strategies for dealing with violence.
